It is with deep sorrow that the family of Jessie (Slade) Snow of Sydney announce her passing at The Cove Guest Home on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at the age of 92.
Born in Sydney on July 20, 1927, Jessie was the daughter of the late George and Dinah (Forsey) Slade.
Jessie was employed for many years at the Royal Bank of Canada and as the bookkeeper at Spring Garden Villa.
Jessie is survived by her children, Allan, Dartmouth, Paula Morrison (Andy), Winnipeg and Robert, Sydney; grandchildren, Marian Stevens, Raymond and Allison Snow, and Heather, David, Mark and Steven Morrison; great-grandchildren, Declan and Colton Stevens; sister, Helen Ellsworth and brother-in-law, Geoff Forshaw.
Besides her parents, Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Melvin (1991); brothers, Jim and George Slade and sisters, Alice Courage and Ruth Forshaw.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Cove Guest Home and especially the nurses and staff of Creative Care.
Memorial service to celebrate the life of Jessie Snow will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street), Whitney Pier on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Thomas Whent Officiating. Light refreshments will be served in the funeral home reception area following the service. Interment will take place Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or a charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

My condolences to the Snow family…Jessie was a dear friend to my mom for many years after working together at Spring Garden Villa.
Condolences to the Snow & Slade families. I vividly remember Jessie and her sisters when they lived on the corner of Henry & Fisher Streets in the Pier. They were good friends of my mother and on occasion used to babysit my brother & me.
