Whitney Pier
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Raymond Francis Clements, surrounded by loved ones on April 8, 2019.
Raymond, age 65, was born on April 16, 1953, in Sydney to the late Wallace and Ina (Hamilton) Clements.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 49 years, Johann (Deveaux) Clements; sons, Francis (Rene) and Carl (Jennie); grandchildren, Sarah, Blake (Shera), Lauren and Carter; great-grandchildren, Steven, Alyson, Nathan, Emma, Austin and Danielle as well as his large extended family, including his brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Raymond was predeceased by his son, Lawrence.
Raymond was a man of few words. He was a sweet gentle soul who loved his family with all of his heart. He was the type of man who would help anyone in need and do it without anyone knowing. Raymond worked at Conway Disposal for many years and in his free time, he mostly enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Raymond is at peace now and we take solace in knowing that he will be with his dearly beloved son, Lawrence.
Visitation for the late Raymond Clements will be held on Thursday April 11, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street), Sydney.
Memorial service to celebrate the life of Raymond will be held in the funeral home on Friday April 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. A light lunch will be served in the funeral home reception area following the service.
Private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Raymond may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care unit on 4E at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

Johann and the Clements and Deveaux families,
Our deepest sympathies. While I haven’t seen Raymond in many years, I have fond memories of him from when I was young. He delivered our groceries and my mom thought the world of him. Heaven has another good one. Rest in peace, Raymond.
Sincere condolences.
He was a fine man.
I was security guard at the time I met him at the landfill.

My deepest condolences to all of you on Ray’s passing.
Fitzgerald Place has lost another fine man.
He was such a wonderful neighbour to my parents after my father took sick. Ray would always help with cleaning the snow from the driveway.
My parents were forever in his debt.
Rest In Peace Ray
