Ronald Laing Minihan, born at Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland, on April 8, 1949 passed away on February 13, 2019 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Lorna (Hall); his five sons, Ryan (Natalie), Colin (Britt), Tristan, Owen, and Max and his three grandsons, Rylin, Peyton and Kayden. He is also survived by his sister June (Ross) and his mother May. He is predeceased by his father, Charles.
Ron was a long time senior English teacher on Vancouver Island. He loved European football, horse racing and literature. He was an avid reader and loved classical literature, and classical music.
A special thank you to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at the Regional Hospital. Funeral will take place Sunday, February 17, 2:00 P.M. at MacMillan Memorial United Church, Catalone with Rev. Emily Duggan officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
