73, Sydney
It is with deep sadness we regret to inform the sudden passing of Vera Lucy (Baggs) Moore on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at her home.
Born in Glace Bay, Vera was the daughter of the late William and Jane (Drover) Baggs.
In her younger days, Vera attended Central School in Glace Bay. She later worked at Glace Bay General Hospital and Point Edward Hospital. While working at the hospital she met her one true love, the late Robert G. Moore.
Vera was a great sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Vera’s proudest moments were watching her 10 grandchildren grow and accomplish many achievements. She will be remembered by family and friends for always having her door open for good times and great food.
Vera will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Heaven has gained an angel.
Besides her parents, Vera was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert, of 47 years, sister, brothers and two grandsons, Philip and James.
Vera is survived by her three children, Irene, Cheryl (Kenny) and Derek (Della); grandchildren, Robert, Lyndsay, Jennifer, Megan, Brennen, Breanna, Brittany and Rob; great-grandson, Mason; brother and many sisters, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to celebrate the life of Vera Lucy Moore will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Rosemary Godin officiating. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area following the service. Private family burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Glace Bay, at a later date.
