It is with a heavy heart that we, the family of Lorraine Marie Murchison, announce her unexpected passing on February 1, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Doris (Kiley) Corbett.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Patricia; son, Gordie (Annette); grandson (her pride and joy), D.J.; sisters, Kaye (Jack), and Arlene; sisters-in-law, Gail (Charles) Collins, and Donna (Bob), brothers-in-law, Donnie, and Bill (Ann Marie) Murchison; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine enjoyed socializing with her many friends at the Bingo Hall. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson, DJ.
In her younger days, Lorraine was employed at the Provincial Building in Environmental Services.
Besides her parents, Lorraine is predeceased by her brothers, Terrance, Bart, Kelly, Moby, Kevin, Gordon and Reg; in-laws, Mary ‘Mamie’ and Gordon Murchison; brothers-in-law, Kenny, Lawrence, Allen, Jerry, and sisters-in-law, Theresa, Carol and Francis.
In following Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service.
Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

So sorry for your loss.I knew Lorraine from our Sunday night bingo. She was a lovely lady who was always friendly and caring. I was shocked to learn she passed away. May your happy memories bring you comfort in the sad days ahead.
