The family of Julie Sheppard regret to announce her passing on Monday, February 3, 2025, at home in Whitney Pier.
Born on August 27, 1952, Julie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Gushue) Krasowski.
Julie is survived by her husband, David; son, Hector; brother, David; sisters-in-law, Jane Marie Sheppard, Donna Krasowski, Paulette Krasowski, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Julie was predeceased by her brothers, Hector, and Carl.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, techs, and support staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Cancer Centre, ER, and palliative care, as well as the VON, Homecare, and EHS paramedics for thier care of Julie in her time of need. “You are very special people.”
Visitation for the late Julie Sheppard will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025, with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks at a later date.
Donations in memory of Julie may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
