South Bar

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Arnold MacLeod, with his family by his side in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital ICU on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Born October 20, 1967, in Sydney, Arnold was the son of the late Arnold Wayne MacLeod and Marion Veronica Woodburn.

Arnold is survived by his loving children, Amy, Cody, Tristan, Brandon, and Kayla; grandchildren, Hayden, Abigail, Miah, Adalyn, Si, Harper, and Damon; siblings, Pattie Ann, Clyde, Lisa, Billy, Kent, Joanne, and best friends, Paul and Earl.

Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his loving grandson, Owen McGean.

Arnold was a very hard-working man his whole life. He was loved by all and called “papa” by most that knew him because he was a great man to all the children in his life always making sure they were heading in right direction. Arnold loved to help anyone in need, and he was always that friend you could count on. He loved having a beer in Louisburg with his buddies.

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank the staff at the ICU for their kindness, compassion, and going above and beyond for our father.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Arnold MacLeod will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Sunday, September 29, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place in Eastmount Cemetery, Whitney Pier.

Donations in memory of Arnold may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
