The family of Jeffrey Steven DeViller, regret to announce his passing on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a brief illness.

Born on April 15, 1967, Jeffrey was the son of William Francis and Ida Maria DeViller from Comeaus Hill.

Besides his parents, Jeff is survived by his wife, Anne (Dye) DeViller; stepchildren, Bernadette (Vern), Natasha (Stanley), Bobby (Renae), Stephanie, Leo (Beth), and Byron; children, Victoria, Mathew, and Paul; siblings, Rod (Shelley), Dwayne (Dawn), and Lynn (Craig); step-grandchildren, Lucas, Cooper, Nellie, Lainie, Cadence, and Riley, his little buddy whom he had a very special relationship with. Jeff is also survived by his dog, Casper.

Jeff was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Albany DeViller and Marjorie Madden; maternal grandparents, Reginald DeViller and Rose Jacquard, as well as many aunts and uncles, all from Comeaus Hill, Yarmouth County.

Jeff loved spending time with his wife, Anne, as they were inseparable and had a very special bond. Jeff’s passion was wood working and making beautiful gifts for all his family. He loved to cook, and he was an amazing chef. He was just a great man and a very funny man. Jeff loved practical jokes.

Jeff is going to be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He made a big impact on everyone’s lives.

We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses in ICU and Palliative Care for all their care and support of Jeff and all his family.

There will be no visitation or service at this time for the late Jeffrey DeViller.

Donations in memory of Jeffrey may be made to the SPCA.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
