We, the family, announce the sudden passing of George Philip Boone on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in Halifax.

Born on October 11, 1957, in Sydney, George was a son of Mary Boone and the late David Boone.

George loved spending time with his family fishing at Pringle Mountain in St. Peters and camping in Port Hood in his younger years. He loved travelling and went across Canada, ending up in Halifax, where he spent his final days.

George is survived by his mother, Mary; brothers, Alfred (Patricia), Stephen, David (Carolyn), Greg (Ruth), Clarence, Tim (Holly), and Michael; sisters, Cathy (Jimmy), Laura and many nieces and nephews.

George is predeceased by his father, David Boone.

There will be no visitation for the late George Boone. A memorial service will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (Whitney Pier) on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1 p.m. with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at New Calvary cemetery.

Donations in memory of George may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
