Louisbourg
With heavy hearts we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Sylvia Marie Trimm, age 73 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care on Monday, October 3, 2022.
Born on April 25, 1949, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Helen and Hector Devison of Louisbourg.
Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by the love of her life, our Dad, Joey, to whom she was married for 29 years.
Mom is survived by her sons, Allan (Kimberly), Kevin (Sheryl); dearly loved grandchildren, Katie, Mya, Ainslie and Nathan; sisters, Theresa (late Fabian) Boone, Bernadette (Kenny) Wadden, Patricia (Robbie) Smith and Maureen (Maurice) Burke. Mom always had a special place in her heart for her numerous nieces and nephews by whom she will be dearly missed. She was blessed by a loving companion, Rufus Perry, for the last 18 years.
Mom worked at the Fortress of Louisbourg until her retirement from the Human Resource Department. While raising her family and working full time, Sylvia was a devoted member of the Louisbourg Vol. Fire Dept., Ladies Aux. and Stella Maris Parish and CWL.
After Mom’s retirement, she created many memories with her grandchildren through Sunday dinners and sleep overs with chocolate chip pancakes. Mom also loved to travel with friends and family. Mom’s happiest times were when family and friends near and far were in her home to celebrate Christmas, Crabfest or just a visit. There was nothing more fun for Mom than a day of shopping, going to the dollar store and lunch with the grandkids. She was the best dressed!
We, the family, would like to thank the staff of Miner’s Lane in Harbourstone Enhance Care for their care and compassion of Mom in her time of need.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvia’s memory can be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or charity of your choice.
Visitation for the late Sylvia Trimm will be held at the Stella Maris Church, Louisbourg on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Ikechukwu Alphonsus Iwuji and Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment will take place Stella Maris Parish Cemetery, Louisbourg.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
