We the family, regret to announce the passing of Maxine Betty Brewster, age 80, on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Mary Brewster-Doncaster; son, Jerome Edward Brewster; sister, Diana Thomas-Dedousis; brother, Charles Thomas; grandson, Steven Gary Joseph LeCoure; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Maxine was predeceased by her husband Jerome Horatius Brewster; son, Steven Michael Brewster; father, George Thomas; mother, Jane Thomas and her sister, Frances Roberge.

Back in the day, Maxine was an avid dart player and always up for a good laugh.

By Maxine’s request cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service to celebrate the life of Maxine Brewster will be held at St Anne’s Cemetery, Glace Bay with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating at a later date.

Donation in memory of Maxine may be made to Crohn’s & Colitis Canada, Mental Health Awareness or Alcoholic Addiction Services
