(1944 – 2025)

We, the family, regret to announce the passing of John Alexander Sajatovich on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the QEII Hospital in Halifax.

John was a devoted husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Sandra; children, John, Charlie (Susan), and Dianne; grandchildren, Tyler Orychock (Cassandra), Kailey Orychock, and Alexander Sajatovich. Treasuring the fond memories are great-grandchildren, Ethan and Raiden Orychock.

John was predeceased by his parents, Marco and Annie (Melanosh) Sajatovich, and by his brothers, Mark, and Nick Sajatovich.

For many years John worked with his dad and brothers at M & S Paving Company. He enjoyed playing pool, watching James Bond movies, and cheering on his favourite hockey team, the New York Rangers.

As per John’s his wishes, cremation has taken place. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Local SPCA, or charity of your choice.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of John Sajatovich will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Friday, February 14, 2025. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12 noon to 2 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
