It is with a heavy heart that we, the family of Lorraine Marie Murchison, announce her unexpected passing on February 1, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Doris (Kiley) Corbett.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Patricia; son, Gordie (Annette); grandson (her pride and joy), D.J.; sisters, Kaye (Jack), and Arlene; sisters-in-law, Gail (Charles) Collins, and Donna (Bob), brothers-in-law, Donnie, and Bill (Ann Marie) Murchison; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine enjoyed socializing with her many friends at the Bingo Hall. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson, DJ.
In her younger days, Lorraine was employed at the Provincial Building in Environmental Services.
Besides her parents, Lorraine is predeceased by her brothers, Terrance, Bart, Kelly, Moby, Kevin, Gordon and Reg; in-laws, Mary ‘Mamie’ and Gordon Murchison; brothers-in-law, Kenny, Lawrence, Allen, Jerry, and sisters-in-law, Theresa, Carol and Francis.
In following Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service.
Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

I MET Lorraine at Bingo and quickly became weekly Bingo Buddies.She was very kind and friendly and usually stopped by to say hello..I was shocked and saddened to hear of her sudden passing.We will miss seeing you at bingo.Sincere condolences fr your Bingo Buddies RIP
David… your home was always open to friends and family and Lorraine treated everyone who entered well. May she rest in the arms of Jesus, enjoying a life of no more pain or suffering. .Dave and family so very sorry to hear of Lorraine’s untimely death. I will miss seeing Lorraine at bingo we had a lot of laughs over our many years. I hope she keeps her winning book going in heaven. We caught up weekly on our many friends in common, and I will miss that. Lorraine was a great person and she loved her family dearly. Please take comfort in your many happy memories and know that Lorraine is watching over us all now.

So sorry for your loss.I knew Lorraine from our Sunday night bingo. She was a lovely lady who was always friendly and caring. I was shocked to learn she passed away. May your happy memories bring you comfort in the sad days ahead.
