It is with a heavy heart that we, the family of Robert Crane announce his passing on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Sydney.

Born in Sydney on July 31, 1945, Robert was the son of the late Lena and William Crane.

Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evangeline; sons, Paul (Colleen) Crane and Stephen (Joanne) Crane; daughter, Kim (Allan) Brace; sisters, Anne (the late Robert) MacDonald, Linda (Ivan) Henderson and Shirley (the late David) Gardiner; brothers, Alonzo (the late Margie) Crane, Johnny (Doris) Crane and Ronald (Helen) Crane; grandchildren, Raymond Crane, Courtney Adams, Caitlin Crouse, Kayla Brace, Brittany Crane, Shaelynn Crane, Danielle Crane, Vanessa Crane, Evan Brace and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his brothers, George (the late Sue), William (Toni) and sisters, Rosie (the late Angus) MacAskill, Hazel (the late Stanley) Kozera, Ollie (the late Bert) Drover, Geraldine (the late Bill) Ayre and Gertrude (Clyde) Mollons.

Robert’s favorite pastimes were golf outings and cheering the Leafs (win or lose). He will be missed by all that knew him.

Visitation for the late Robert Crane will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025.  Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. in St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Whitney Pier with Rev. Jackie Warren officiating. Interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney at a later date.

Donations in memory of Robert may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
