The family of Marilyn Boutilier, regret to announce her passing on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Glace Bay Hospital, Glace Bay.
Born on August 20, 1950, in Sydney, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Leonard and Rebecca Manning.
Marilyn loved to knit, do crossword puzzles and make dolls. She loved to cook, bake and collecting things, especially clothes was her hobby.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Melodie (Ambrose), Ronald (Marija), and Darcy (Cindy); brothers, Raymond (Teresa), Kenneth (Francis), and her baby sister, Judy (Gord); grandchildren, Charlaine, Melodie, Jamie, Tristen, Emma, Liam, Brooklyn, and Bridget; special friends, Kenny Butts, Debbie MacKinnon and Judy Campbell; as well as a large circle of friends.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Boutilier; sisters, Gladys (Phillip), and Shirley (Linda); brothers, Albert (Debbie), and John (Gladys); in-laws, James Taylor, Mary Jane Taylor, Bob Lessley, and special niece, Deanna Manning.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Marilyn Boutilier will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Lt. Dion Durdle officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney, at a later date.
Donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to The Salvation Army.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

So sorry for your loss. I remember her coming to visit my mom every time she came from Newfoundland. She made us allโs laugh with her stories.

Sorry to hear Marilyn has passed away after a long battle with her health. Marilyn had a great sense of humor & enjoyed life. She will be greatly missed by all her friends & family. Mariiyn, you were one of a kind. your laugh and your kindness will be never forgotten. You one of a kind and there will no one like you. It was a joy to be around you and I will miss that very much. You were a holy person and there was not a word in the bible that you did not know and where to find it.
