Sydney
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Donald Moore, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family on April 29, 2023.
Wayne was born in Sydney on September 5, 1948, to Irene (Sheppard) and Colie Moore. He grew up in a loving home alongside his siblings, Walter, Charlie, Donna, Nancy, and George.
Wayne was a proud and talented iron worker and welder, who dedicated more than 35 years of his life to the trade, most of which were with RKO Steel before he retired in 2008. He took great pride in his work and was respected by his colleagues for his hard work and dedication.
Family was everything to Wayne, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy (George), Donna (John), and son, Wayne (Andrea) who meant the world to him.
Wayne was a doting grandfather to Joshua (Samantha), Chase, Grayson, Sophie, and Nate, and a loving great-grandfather to Connor and Madison. He was also a beloved brother to George (Lorraine), Donna (John) and Nancy. Wayne was also survived by many nieces, nephews as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, whom he cherished dearly.
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife, Shirley; grandson, Zachary; brothers, Walter, Charlie and brother-in-law, Jackie. He was deeply saddened by their passing and missed them dearly.
Wayne was a man of many passions and loved spending time in nature. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and exploring the wilderness, where he found peace and solace.
Wayne will be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering love for his family, and his dedication to his work. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will forever live on in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Dad. You were an extraordinary man and father. You will be deeply missed, and your legacy of love will continue to inspire us all.
