Daniel, Michael, Linda and families. So sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. We had a lot of great times together when I lived in Louisbourg when our kids were young. She was a lovely person
Ms. Fudge, as the officer cadets of the Canadian Coast Guard College knew her, was a bright light in everyones day when she was on campus. She held a position of honour as a graduate of the first class to admit female officer cadets to the program. She had an infinitely kind personality that always earned her the utmost respect amongst the students. As a duty officer she was known for her fairness and leniency when and where appropriate. It was her way of helping us get through the program.
It was impossible not to smile whenever you saw her coming your way. I will fondly remember our many hallway and music room conversions.
Condolences to her family and friends.
My most sincerest condolences to her family. Linda was such an amazing person who had a profound impact on many who attended the Coast Guard College. Forever in our hearts.
Our sincere Condolences to Linda’s family and Friends. Sailed with Linda when she was Third Officer onboard the Old Edward Cornwallis. She was such a sweet lady. May she now Rest in Peace.

Our hearts are broken for the loss of your sissy and our step sissy-in-law. Her soft spoken voice, genuine smile, and the kind hearted soul she was, will be forever in our hearts. Rest In Peace Our Sweet Lady. 💔💔You will forever have a place in our hearts ❤️❤️
I remember learning that duty officer Fudge was one of the first female graduates of the Coast Guard College. I went to the wall of graduates and found her picture, so young and leading the way. She was so kind and supportive during my time at the college. She was a light. And her light will be missed. To all who knew her, she will be missed.
Condolences to Linda’s family. She was very kind, helpful and a pleasure to work with. May she Rest In Peace.
MY sincere condolences Marilyn & Freddy & family
Chère Linda. I remember the first time we met. I was in class 75, we had just come from our sea training and this was the second year that women had come to the CCG College. You had an advantage, because you were originally from Louisbourg. So the saline of the sea, you knew very well. Despite your small stature, you have passed through years of study and training at sea. Rumor even has it that the bosun of the Narwhall, I believe, had made a small bench so that you could watch the radar…
At the College, our accommodations were in the same building. I believe we felt like your guardian angels. Then, after our graduation, we lost sight of each other. During an invitation I received from the College to give a lecture, I saw you again, still in your uniform, but you had exchanged your ship for the new college. And always your smile. You were happy to see a Class 75 “old timer” again… You were then a mother at home, and a bit like the mother of the cadets.
And now, I heard that you sailed away one last time! The next time I’ll be in Louisbourg, I will have a thought for you…
Bon voyage, Miss Linda Fudge. Et bons vents!…
My sincere condolences. Linda was a very kind person who had a positive impact on so many cadets at the college. I truly enjoyed our conversations and brief time spent together. May she rest in peace.
She is held tight in Aunt Rita and Uncle Harolds arms once again! My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.
My heart hurts to hear of Linda’s passing… she was a second mother to the officer cadets (as she liked to remind us). She was such a kind and generous person with mighty strength in a small package, especially to be a female pioneer in the Coast Guard! Sincere condolences to the family,.
I would like to add my condolences to Linda’s family. Coming from Louisburg I knew her from school. In 1978 I was a steward on the C. C. G. S. Daring and Linda was the 3th mate . I believe it was her 1st year out of the Coast Guard Collage
May peace and comfort be with you the family

It is hard to know where to begin when speaking about Linda Fudge. I first met Linda in my early 20’s when I started dating her sister and hanging around her parents’ house on Havenside in Louisbourg quite a few years ago now. I was even fortunate enough to become her brother-in-law for several years and she didn’t even hold it against me.
Seriously though, it was not hard to immediately recognize the intelligence, strength, and loving nature packed into her small frame and it was so easy to be amazed and proud of her accomplishments as she grew and followed her chosen career path. I am not at all surprised by the accolades of her former colleagues and I thought she cut quite the figure in her Canadian Coast Guard uniform. Her family and friends were so proud.
When Linda became a mother, the energies she put into her career were focused on raising and loving her children. Her boys have grown to lead productive lives of their own and Linda became a grandmother, a role she embraced with relish. Unfortunately, I didn’t see much of Linda after moving away from Louisbourg over 20 years ago to live in Marion Bridge but whenever we ran into each other over those intervening years it was always a happy occurrence. Linda never changed from being the Linda we all knew and loved.
I will be forever thankful to her for allowing me to visit with her during Christmas while she was in hospice care. A Linda who was a bit more fragile on the outside but who was still fierce and full of life inside. I consider myself most fortunate to have that memory to add to all the others to remember her by.
From Janie and I, our most heartfelt condolences to all her family, near and far. God bless her, she was truly one of a kind.
Carlton and Janie Lunn
