Louisbourg
We, the family, regret to announce the passing of Lillian Jane ‘Janie’ LeMoine on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born on December 2, 1930, in Newfoundland, Janie was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Samms) Parsons.
Besides her parents, Janie was predeceased by her husband, George; daughter, Charlene; grandson, Jason Day and brothers, Harold and Charlie.
Janie is survived by brother, Jim; daughters, Lillian (Norman), Barbara (Joey) and Marlene (Johnny); sons, Johnny (Judy) and George (Paulette); 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
As Janie was a very private person, her request is that there will be no visitation. A “Family Only” graveside service will be held at St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Louisbourg with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
The family want to thank the staff at Miners Memorial Manor in Sydney Mines for their excellent care of mom in her time of need.
Donations in memory of Janie may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

My sincere condolences to the Lemoine family . Janie certainly was a “ lady “ I always enjoyed listening to stories she would talk about growing up as a child . An as she got older her family always game first … cooking in the kitchen . My thoughts an prayer to the family .
Please accept our sincere and heartfelt condolences on the passing of Aunt Janie. I know she was a beloved mother and grandmother to you all. My dad (Jim Parsons) is in hospital but we were able to let him know as he wanted to call George to check in on his sister. We all knew her health was failing. God love them as they both have the longevity gene! May Aunt Janie Rest In Peace xoxo hugs ❤️
