It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Howard English on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care in Sydney.
Born on December 5, 1936 in Sydney, Howard was the son of the late James Edmond and Margaret Sophie (MacKinnon) English.
Howard worked for many years at Sydney Steel.
Howard is survived by his children, Margaret (Neil) MacDonald, Janet (Roland) Stubbert, Eugene, Howard, Denise, Emeline and Basil (Michelle); as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides his parents, Howard was predeceased by his brothers, George and Edmond and sisters, Emeline, Annabelle and Katherine.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service for Howard English will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery in the spring.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harbourstone Wentworth Court for the care given to Howard during his time there.
Donations in memory of Howard may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
