We, the family regret to announce the passing of Janet ‘Scotty’ McMullen on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at home.
Born on November 4, 1930 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland, Scotty was the daughter of the late John and Christina Stenhouse.
Scotty was employed in the hospitality industry for many years and enjoyed everyday. She was an avid reader. There was never a day went by when she didn’t ask about her grandchildren and their families.
Scotty is survived by her daughters, Christine (Gussie), Jacqueline (Michael) and Jennifer; grandchildren, Jan, Melissa (John), Vincent and George (Crystal); six great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild: one sister Margaret; many niece’s and nephew’s abroad; sister-in-law, Monica Stenhouse and her children, Christene and David.
Besides her parents, Scotty was predeceased by her husband, George and brothers, John and Jim.
In keeping with Scotty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with interment in Alfred E. Smith Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Donations in memory of Scotty may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care & direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

I am so saddened to hear this. She was such a fun loving lady, I remember when I would go visit her with you many years ago and would laugh because she would chat my ear off and I had to have you translate..loved her thick accent..lol but over those years I got to understand her..lol.
