It is with deep sadness that we regret to announce the passing of Betty MacIntosh on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with her loving family at her side. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Born on August 18, 1940 in Sydney, Betty was the daughter of the late Donald ‘Dan’ and Hilda (King) MacAskill.
Betty worked along side of her husband Myles running MacIntosh’s ESSO in Dutch Brook for over 40 years. She was always giving and full of fun, her door was always open. Betty enjoyed a good game of cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her three grandchildren, Jamie, Nicole and Logan; great-grandchildren, Avery, Myles and Sophie; as well as several cousins.
Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Myles MacIntosh; sons, Sylvester, Myles (Joyce) and Dan (Mary); sister, Margie and a brother, Leslie.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Betty MacIntosh will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street), Whitney Pier on Friday, October 25, 2019. A gathering of family and friends will take place from noon – 1 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating. Interment will take place in Oakfield Cemetery, Marion Bridge.
Donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Hospice Palliative Society of Cape Breton.
The family gives special thanks to the doctors and nurses of 3A and 4E of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the care given to Betty during her time of need.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

I am saddened to hear of this strong, wonderful souls loss, she endured many hardships in her life and still had a smile and a positive chat, she will certainly be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her, rest easy dearest Betty.

I tried calling many times and no answer I would like too know how ,long she was. in the hospital for,? I knew she had a cousin near where she lived , Her first name was Ann,
