Sydney

It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Dorothy ‘Babe’ Lillian (Crombie) Roberts on August 15, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after a long illness.

Born in New Waterford on July 27, 1935, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Alex and Marcella Crombie. She spent many years living in Barrie and Angus, Ontario where she met her beloved husband of 43 years, Albert ‘Ab’ Roberts.

Although very ill for several years, Dorothy always had a bright and positive spirit. She never complained and kept her sense of humour though it all.

The family of Dorothy would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff of ward 4D at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and in particular, Allison, for her compassion and kindness in Dorothy’s final hours.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Ab; brother, James Crombie of Stratford, PEI; sister, Barb Crombie of New Waterford; nieces and nephew, Sandra Crombie, Rocky Mountain House, AB, Joanne Crombie, PEI, Janet Grant, Mono Cliffs, ON, Jim Crombie, Montague, PEI and Leslie Town, Orillia, ON.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Dorothy Lillian Roberts will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, from 3–5 p.m.
