Hunter’s Mountain
It is with heavy hearts we, are sad to, announce the passing of one beautiful person, Gail Elaine Plant (MacKenzie), age 61, on Friday, February 23, 2018 in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck, surrounded by her loving family.
Gail is survived by her husband, Brian Plant, Hunter’s Mountain; son, Cody; sister, Marlene MacKenzie, Sydney; brother, Mark MacKenzie, Alberta; father, Donald MacKenzie, Hunter’s Mountain; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gail was predeceased by her mother, Emily MacKenzie of Hunter’s Mountain; brother-in-law, Richie MacSween and nephew, Tyler.
Gail suffered many illnesses though out her life, but always strived to live a loving life. To her friends and children, she was known as Miss Gail.
Gail was very strong minded and loving, always said what was on her mind, never scared of what was ahead of her in life. I can hear her singing songs from her favorite singers, Janice Joplin and John Lennon, especially while camping. She had a love of the outdoors, going for drives, swimming, walking and her passion was working in the garden. Gail loved to see things growing, she had an amazing green thumb and one of her best jobs was working at Brooks Side Gardens. She also worked at the day care when Cody was small as well as spending time on the water fishing lobster.
We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and help and support through these difficult times, friends, nurses and doctors and home care workers who were there for Gail and us with anything we needed and help make this time a little easier.
Gail is with God now and with her passing she will be dearly missed and will leave a hole in our lives, a sister, a mother, my soul mate, my best friend, she filled our lives with happiness it was an adventure every day. We will miss you dearly, my love and I will keep your memory alive, if I forgot anything Miss Gail, just please send me a sign, I will be looking for it my love XOXO.
There will be a celebration of life at a later day, when the Gail of Wind comes in the fall.
Send an online condolence.
