It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the passing of Delores Elaine (Wall) MacLeod on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, with her family by her side.

Born in Sydney, Delores was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Gillis) Wall.

Delores worked all her life in the grocery industry, David’s Market, Farmer Clem’s and Sobeys. She enjoyed dancing, bingo, darts and sports on television. Delores had a special bond with her sister, Rose. She will be remembered by family and friends for being kind, generous and friendly.

Delores is survived by her siblings, Cyril, Charles ‘Buddy’ (Mary), Geraldine (Kenny) Grant, Lorraine, Rose (Buddy) Norman, Tessie (Joe) Snow, Dennis and Bonita (Alex) Calder; sister-in-law, Etta Swain; brothers-in-law, Arnie, Mervin and Murray; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Delores was predeceased by her husband, Lynn MacLeod; parent in-laws, Allan and Jean MacLeod; brother, Ervin; sisters-in-law, Edith, Norma and Claire Wall; brother-in-law, Wick McCormick; niece, Debra Marie Wall; grandnephew, Greg Norman and her companion, Jim Petrie.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service to celebrate the life of Delores Elaine (Wall) MacLeod will take place at a later date.

Donations in memory of Delores may be made to Hospice/Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the care given to Delores during her time of need.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
